Beast is about an 18 year old boy named Rex and his genius bestfriend and class mate Michael. Whilst doing research on viruses for a cold, Michael stumbles across information on an aborted project which had successfully removed the cold from the body completely. The drug made the human bodies immune system work overtime and eventually over powered the virus and crushed it. The problem with the drug was that it was also strong enough to alter ones DNA causing what scientist could only be described as supernatural reactions. Results included over sized body parts: feet, head, hands etc. Extreme strength, change in body temperature, change in appetite and food cravings and other things. Some reactions more interesting than others but as they went on the doctors realised that the drug was dangerous because no two people had the same DNA therefore the transformations were completely unpredictable. No two peoples reactions would ever be the same. So in this light the government shut down the project and all the test pills were supposedly destroyed. Michael searched online and saw that there were a couple of them on the black market. A man was selling some for £200 and just after a conversation about superheroes in class between Michael, Rex and Jessica, Michael decided to inform Rex about the possibility of superhuman abilities. Rex being a very inquisitive person racked up the money to buy the drugs from the man. At first there were no reactions but within days their were major physical changes in Rex's behaviour, movement, and physique. He was stronger, his eyes had become completely white, and his food cravings where changing. At first the changes seemed cool but the drugs also had the ability to cause mental problems and this began to affect Rex. He found it hard to control himself he began to have an appetite for raw human flesh and he became extremely violent. Rex realising his problem is trying to get away from people before the drug takes completely control. Michael couldn't report such a situation, feeling guilty for encouraging Rex to use the drugs in the first place so he has to find away to hide his bestfriend whilst protecting himself as well.
